Life can be so crazy and complicated. You never know what is coming your way or what will happen. It seemed simple as a child or at least less complicated. So what happened?

There are many reasons why life is so complicated. Not only is there a lot more to the world, even as a child, that you may not have realized, but there’s just so much that goes into it.

Life has so many components. Some of these are even out of your control, while others may be more within grasp: like your relationships or boundaries. Here are the reasons why.

Why Life Is So Complicated?

1. It Is Unpredictable

Life is unpredictable. You can do all the planning and strategy you want, but sometimes life throws something at you out of the blue.

This could be anything, both positive and negative. You may get a job offer that moves you across the United States, or you could receive news of a loss in the family.

You can do your best to gain skills that will help you cope with these situations, but there is no way to plan for things you can’t even imagine. It’s why life can be so complicated.

2. Sometimes You Have No Control

Sometimes you have no control over what happens in life, which makes it so complicated. You don’t have a choice, and it can make you feel both hopeless and powerless.

Life feels even more complicated when you try to control it. This will make life much harder, and the disappointment can be debilitating.

3. Relationships Are Complicated

Relationships are just as complicated. Because you cannot go throughout this world without having a relationship of some sort, it just adds to this complicated mess we call life.

Relationships can be complex. You have your needs, and they have yours. This doesn’t always align, which makes things just a little intricate.

You will have relationships unless you are a hermit living off the land in the woods. This could be work, school, family, or friends. These can be superficial or profound. But they still are complicated.

4. Emotions Can Be Confusing

Yes, you get taught what emotions are when you are a child. You can identify the expressions, but emotions are more complicated than that and just adds to life’s complexity.

As adults, people are still trying to navigate their emotions. What are they feeling? Why are they feeling this way? And even then, it is hard to learn those things without outside assistance like counseling or therapy.

Emotions can sometimes surprise you too. Something may make you angry or sad, and you’re unsure why. They can also cause you to do things you normally wouldn’t do. So complicated.

5. There Is Too Much On Your Plate

You may have put too much on your plate. When you are overloaded with stress and have high anxiety, it will make your world seem chaotic. You will feel powerless.

When your fight or flight mode takes over, you won’t be able to make rational decisions. Your body will either want to fight off the threat or flee it. This can make your life quite complicated.

One wrong decision in this mode can disrupt the life tha you have. Understanding that you have too much on your plate can help reduce the complexity and ease your worries, even if it is just a little bit.

Anxiety and stress can also effect your physical health. It can cause so many different symptoms like:

  • Binge eating or starvation
  • Fatigue
  • High blood pressure
  • Fast heart rate
  • Lower sleep quality
  • irritability

It can even weaken your immune systems, causing you to be more susceptible to diseases and viruses.

6. You Are Focusing On The Negative

You could be focusing too much on the negative aspects of your life. You are viewing your world through a dark lens and only seeing what is going wrong.

When you focus on just the negative, it can make life seem so crazy and just not fun. It can put a damper on many things.

Life is complicated without your help. Try looking through a more positive lens instead. It doesn’t have to be outlandish. It can be realistic, but make it more positive.
