Who does not wish for a good night’s sleep? Sleep is one of the best parts of the day, where you get to recharge and fall into dreamland. Clean sheets help to facilitate this occurrence.

Clean sheets feel so good and may even improve your sleep. I have found seven reasons clean sheets feel so good and would like to share them with you.

Why Do Clean Sheets Feel So Good?

1. Clean Beds Are More Comfortable

It does not matter what style of sheets you have. You get a good night’s sleep when you sleep on a clean bed, and this is the truth.

A survey overseen by The National Sleep Foundation shows that there is a relationship between the cleanliness of the bedroom and sleep.

The study indicates that people who regularly made their bed were likelier to get a good night’s sleep. 19 percent of people reported this. Clean sheets have a lot of great qualities:

  • Warm
  • Cozy
  • Soft
  • Comfortable

Another study conducted in 2012 by The National Sleep Foundation found that 73 percent of people sleep better on fresh sheets. It shows you that clean beds are more comfortable.

2. Fresh Scents Help You Sleep

There is no need to go out and purchase ten lavender candles or a plethora of essential oils. Fresh scents are the key to getting a good night’s sleep.

Depending on what type of washing powder you use, you can make your bed smell simply divine. There are various scents on the market that were inspired by fresh laundry:

  • Byredo Toile textile Perfume smells like warm sheets fresh out of the dryer (violet silk, lily of the valley, amber, and cotton musk)
  • Clean skin smells like warm cotton (musks, honey, and fresh air)
  • Demeter Linen smells like a fresh batch of laundry
  • Replica Lazy Sunday Morning smells like fresh sheets and warm skin (lily of the valley, pear, rose, orange, and musk)

These scents capture the crisp, warm aroma of fresh sheets that come directly out of the dryer, and spritzing perfume on the bed is a good idea. Look into perfumes that come in candle form.

Candles and perfumes of this type can make your bedroom smell as wonderful and relaxing as clean sheets.

3. Clean Beds Are Inviting

It is no secret that a clean, warm bed makes you want to lie down, curl up into a ball and fall asleep. Climbing into a clean bed feels like your reward for working hard all day.

Clean beds may also help to clear your mind. When your bed is clean, you can go to sleep, and you do not have a care in the world.

4. Clean Beds Help Air Quality

Clean Beds Help Air Quality

A clean bed does not contain viruses or bacteria in your sleeping area. When your bed is clean, it helps you to breathe better and sleep better.

Clean sheets can help decrease the risk of having asthma and allergies triggered by dust mites. If you do not clean your sheets, dust mites may be found in your bed (yuck!)

Also, when you have a clean bed, it can make you feel the way you feel after a good yoga session: relaxed and lighthearted. Clean sheets have a very soothing effect.

5. Decreases Your Chance For Zits

You sweat during the night. That sweat accumulates on your bed, your sheets, and especially on your pillowcases. It equals the risk of getting zits or blackheads onto your skin.

Make-up residue also gets into the sheets and builds up on the linens. Bacteria forms and allows oils to rub into your skin, which is not ideal when you have to go out and face the world.

When you have a zit, your skin is congested with:

  • Bacteria
  • Oil
  • Pus (double yuck!)

Zits are not a good look on anyone. If you want to have clean, healthy skin, you should wash your sheets regularly. You should actually strip your entire bed down and get to business.

6. No Pet Hair

You love your fur baby, and you would never “dream” of kicking them out of your bed. You want to snuggle with them, too. Unfortunately, pet hair also accumulates onto your bed sheets.

Pet dander and dirt from Fluffy’s fur can lead to dermatitis. You could end up with skin problems:

  • Dry
  • Itchy
  • Red

When you wash your sheets regularly, it eliminates the possibility of pet hair causing these problems. Not to mention your pet will also love the fresh, clean sheets.

7. Reduces Sweating Issues

You sweat when you sleep. Sweating occurs during your eight-hour beauty rest and accumulates onto your bed and sheets.

Sweat contains tons of bacteria and yeast, which can lead to fungal infections like ringworm. Ringworm is an unpleasant circular-shaped rash on your skin, and it itches.

Even though there is no actual worm involved, it is no fun having the condition. Having clean sheets will lessen the chance that something disgusting gets onto your skin.

Ringworm is highly contagious, which makes it even more of a serious health issue. Also, if you perspire a lot during your sleep, you should wash your bedding at least twice a week.

Conclusion

Clean sheets feel so much better than having a dirty, wrinkled-up mess. Clean sheets feel good and smell good.

Nothing is more rewarding and enjoyable than hopping into bed after a long day at work, and your sheets are fresh out of the dryer.
